Trash Talk - Mapper/Tiler/Staff Needed blackmoon - Sun Jul 04, 2004 7:46 am Post subject: Mapper/Tiler/Staff Needed
I am making a new zone, Ultimate Games. Currently I am using a map and tileset from another zone on my server for ship/server settings purposes only!
Go to www.blackmoonskeep.net/ultimate_games to get IP/Port info. Once in the zone, type ?go oldpublic to see what I have gotten started. I am in a rehab hospital for an accident, so I don't have much time to try and map, but I still try. I am using another zone's tileset at the moment so I can build the layout of my map.
I need a mapper:
assist in overall layout of map
assist in base design
assist in map object design
I need a tiler:
assist in creating a new tileset. I will re-do the map with the new tileset so I do not get accused of stealing another zone's tileset when my zone is uploaded to a host.
So you can see, you needn't do everything to get some access. Quantity of what you are requested to do can be discussed with me ingame as Blackmoon 2.0.
Mappers and Tilers will be given SMOD access as compensation for their assistance. Post here, PM here, email me, or post on UG's website. Thanks!!!!

As I believe it was Ekted that wrote, good map makers != good staff; and vice versa.

that was good coders != good sysops

and that was where != meant not necessarily... so ekted pretty much didn't say anything at all

He was just saying that if you're good at one thing, you aren't automatically good at another.

then again, if you're willing to spend hours coding / mapping / tilesetting you're probably more likely to be a responsible moderator. You're not gonna go around banning everyone because you want them to appriciate your creation.
Plus you dont see many 10 year olds coding, so having a coder as a sysop may be an indication that he's got a better chance of being mature.
