General Questions - Proper Topic Subjects Mr Ekted - Sun May 16, 2004 6:55 am Post subject: Proper Topic Subjects
I am not staff here, so this is by no means an official request. I would like to beg people to please put meaningful subjects on their posts, so it's easier to remember what's in them. "Help" in any forum or "help with bot" in the bot forum or "cool idea" in the suggestions forum are not meaningful subjects. Thank you.

I used to fix subjects at some point, but then it starts happening to often. This will always be a reoccuring theme, as the general population of the people making new threads usually are new people looking for quick assistance. And on average, I'd bet that they have never filled in bug forums before for other projects, and thus don't understand the advantage a nice, concise subject would do for them.

could force them to read a little "how to post a topic" before they post their first
I um, don't really care though - they're mostly little kids

Here's an Idea, Delete ALL post that ask a question previosly answered in a earlier post. Either that or post: PLZ USE SEARCH and lock the topic and/or move to a new board: Newbs that can't read! SuSE - Tue May 18, 2004 6:24 pm Post subject:
ya and let's delete the posts from Guest's, too

Its funny...
If wanted staff can see who the guest are the board records ip's and which usernames have posted under it - sorry this has nothing to do with the main topic but to cure that i'll just say MGB has a point... the world today is a lazy place and people dont like to read anything.... why do you think spyware and adware are so big.... noone reads the disclaimer when they install programs from the net... Only way to cure this problem is either up the staff and have them change the topic lable or shut down the forum which would suck.
