Oh and d1s, even if Continuum was illegal, it sure as heck wouldn't shut down. There are no official servers, so the government couldn't really shut it down. Of course, major servers like SSC would have to go 'in-the-dark', but we could still easily play.

Indeed, but I think the principle of the matter is it's not under 1 general server; several independently run servers could exist; but in any way the client would then be deemed illegal, any server software also would be; and one wouldn't be able to run directory servers in fear of being sued or something :/ or something..
