I don't understand why it won't work this time this is the first time I have ever had trouble with it...i'm trying to connect 2 zones together and I have the two zone folders but even if I try to connect just one zone it shows that it is pinging but I can't enter and it doesnt ask to create a name. This is my server.ini

Yes I have the map file name correct and the same port under the subbill.ini. If you can tell me why this isn't working and what I will need in the other zones server.ini under [Billing] for ServerID and ScoreID (does it have to match the first zones of each to be on the SAME billing).

Same thing happened to me too. It acts like it's alive but doesn't recieve any logins

Scoreid can match
Serverid... I don't think it's even used
Also ports(The [Misc] one) can NOT match
And do not make the port only 1 different(First is 100, then don't make second 101, 102 and more is ok, but not 101)

the billing port needs to be the same on both. NOT the server port.

ummm, i have everything correct, and my subgame2, starts to run and it starts to attempt to connect to billing zone, it keeps trying until it says ERROR: could not connect to the billing server. Starting server in stand-alone mode, wtf do i do now? icon_sad.gif

k i finally got past that and connected to the billing server, now whenever i try to log into my zone, it doesnt let me? :-/, im on a network, and i have a router, i think thats my problem, what do i have to do if i have a router? i ahve 3 comps networked to in my house...i think thats my problem, help would be greatly appreciated

same for me too i have a LAN but once i made I only can enter but other ppl too plz help me icon_cry.gif

You need to forward port 7000 and 7001 to the server that has the server on it. you need to edit your zone.dat on every computer inside the LAN to use the server's internal IP instead of it's external one that's downloaded from the directory server.

im a little new to this stuff....could you explain the forward ports 7000 and 7001? : /, sry....and i want other ppl outside my router to join my zone, not just the ppl im networked too, so would i need to set theirs with this also? as u said?

i feel stupid...you need to edit your zone.dat on every computer inside the LAN to use the server's internal IP instead of it's external one that's downloaded from the directory server. could u explain that also? :-/..

The port forwarding is on your router, we cant realy help. Read your router manual.

The zone.dat is only for people inside your LAN. I have posted several times about how to do this. Read an older post for instructions.
