Found your problem. Pixels = each LITTLE TINY dot on the screen. There are about 72 pixels per inch (for printing atleast), so they are pretty small. In fact, the width of each ship is 32 pixels. You having it set to 2 means that, even with a direct impact, it still wouldn't do any damage, since the direct impact is on the outside of the ship, and distance is compared to the middle of the ship.

Set it to something like 60, and play around with it then. Or, better yet, use my Bomb Calculator and play around with the numbers then.

I forgot to mention, would the bomb do 50 damage? or is there some kind of formula for it?

The energy for each ship is 100, i need the bomb to hit the ship about 2 or 3 times before the person dies... thanks for your help..

that depends on bomb:bombdamagelevel and the recharge setting for each ship

with your current bomb:bombdamagelevel=50 and reasonable recharge rate this should be fine

It would be also wise to mention that, whilst the bomb damage is in effect, the ship's own recharge rate kicks in and regenerates the energy bar.
So if not balanced well, it might actually entirely negate the damage the bomb deliver.
That is if a situation of one bomb - one recharge tick is in question.
In superzones, where the bomb fire rate is extremely high, you might have an accumulation effect occur.
