Is there a way to read the server.cfg settings for another zone? I want to copy the settings for 1 ship from 1 zone and 2 settings for another ship in another zone. I've been trying to guesstimate them but unsuccessfully so far. The rest of my ship settings are unique icon_wink.gif

I asked the same question inside a zone. Ask one of the sysops in the zone you want the settings from if you could have the .cfg.

the only way you could do that would be to become owner of a subarena cloned from the pub, and download the settings

Or spawn a bot there and harness the settings out of the 4 settings packets that will arrive per ship. Then just have the bot get in all 9 ships and itll be stolen, mostly. The rest of the things that arent transmitted are server side and figure-outable.

I thought it was just one "packet" sent as 3 chunks during the "Entering Arena" text and flying stars.

Whatever. Ive never dealt with haveing to ship change a bot or really deal with the settings. I assumed that since there was shipchange limit for a reason, large ammount of data that needs to be sent.

Either way, still stealable, still unknowable.

You could presumably using softice access to the settings that the zone downloads to your memory and use some asp to translate the assembler data to a text settings layout.
Naturally, this would require a high level of assembly knowledge.

Best way is to ask the owner for the settings.
If they can't provide, guess-timate would be your best course of action.
