just edit the passwords out before you post. it's common practice.

I have a question on top of that. When you edit your local IP into the zone.dat, only computers are allowed to connect to the server, due to using the same IP. If you have the zone.dat changed to your local IP, computers outside the LAN can't connect. I probably already know that this is because of the router ignoring the players PC IP, right? Basically, I'm just trying to ask if I'm right by saying that you need to have the firewall forward the IP to your server, otherwise it ignores it. So I HAVE to let the router forward the connection attempt?
TIA
Katie

The zone.dat is for people INSIDE the LAN. It will only work for inside people (you are on the LAN).
The router/firewall forwarding is for people outside the LAN. It will only work for outside people.
These two things do not need to be done at the same time. They are independent.
There is a chance that the "gateway" forwarding will also allow LAN people to play, but most "gateway devices" dont like packets addressed to their outside coming from the inside, so I recomend the zone.dat fix, because it is independent of the model of firewall/router.

UDP, and the IP is the IP of the computer the zone is running on.

Run cont, go to the zones list, click add custom, type in "local zone" for the name, 127.0.0.1 for the IP, port is from server.ini.

Ok, I have the same problem as everyone else. I found my forwarding but I have a few questions. My port is 1916 what should I put for each of these? :
Application:
Start:
End:
Protocol: TCP/UDP/Both
IP Address: 192.168.1._
Enable?: (check it?)

Application: Subgame2 (Doesn't really matter)
Start: 1916 (You should make this an easy, round number ie. 5700, 3200, 2900, etc.
End:+1 number. So if you make it 1916, this would be 1917. If you make it 5700, this would be 5701. 3200:3201 Get it?
Protocol: TCP/UDP/Both I believe it is to be UDP
IP Address: 192.168.1._ Find out what your local IP address for your computer. To do this, click Start -> Run -> type in CMD -> then type ipconfig It should bring up the 192.168.1.X Probably 2, 3, or 4
Enable?: (check it?) Enable it.
