I've got this realy cool idea (well, I think it's cool icon_redface.gif ) but for it to work I need a bot that apears always at same place on map and WONT hunt after players, just shot at them.
He must have a ship that only he can use and if he dies he must only reapear after a set time (time set by me)

The main idea would be use something with warpto, !ship and !follow.
I would need like 4 fighting ships like this one in same game.
plz, i need a bot that can do this!!!

If i'm not mistaken.. Merv has a function that allows it to turret onto a ship and shoot.. Look to currently bots, and read up on them. Fighting bots aren't really that new all flavors of them has been posted on these forums. However, I'd suggest keep thinking and tinkering. =\ The most original of ideas are bred from the masterworks others have done. Just rethought, redone, and broken into 'new' things. It's called.. uhm. plagerism? Or was it something else.. I dunno

MERVs '!turret' function makes an unkillable still ship on the map. If you want it to be able to die, forget it, that's seriously hard, since damage is calculated client-side.

Actualy, yeah to do a killable bot someone would have to do like a certain coder and script into the client itself. Much like Sanctimonious's bot in furcadia. Forgot what it was called, but it opens a client that runs the bot and functions for it.. BUT Sanct's bot is lowtech to our standards. By SS terms it'd be just a MTbot (or any other message bot) that keeps time and makes arena, zone, and other messages. But, perhaps doing a bot that starts up a new client and runs itself through it... might be easier? What does the experianced coders think?

A killable bot is possible of course, it's just that everyone who knows how to do it has better things to do.

But in the MERVbot spawns.txt it says:
"WARNING: As a rule of thumb, you can never host more than 3 bots in one zone."
How will I put 4 fighting ships?

Try running 2 instances of MERVbot.exe (in different directories, of course).

That rule is there to prevent some newb from spawning 30 bots, and packet flooding. I have heard cases of 15 MERVs off of one core. It was laggy, but it worked.
