Bots are great aren't they? But aren't we about to drown ourselves in cotton here?* I'll never knock a coder for whatever task (s)he decides to take; however, when you have every tom, dick, and harry building they're cores one must wonder: Will the rest of the game suffer? Meh, i've been out of the game for over a year now.. the SSC (SubSpace Council) was the leading group of players, or so they claimed, when it came to doing the updates to the client/servers etc. But, now all i've really seen, since i returned, is bots. I've heard a lot of this new server comeing, and damn thats great.. And .39 seems to be comeing along nicely. But, its a strong opinion of mine, if the ScriptKiddies put half the work they do into these god awful tons of bots into other things, perhaps items no one has thought of yet, maybe this game'll see more advancements then it currently has seen. I don't know.. I just wanted to rant, so i chose to rant on this. =\ Bully.

*refrence of course made to the cotton gin and how it killed the once grand cotton buisness. For those that didn't catch that. <_<

There are 3 major bot cores, and only a few variations of the MERV core.

Priit is the only person that has the full source code for the client and he doesn't share.

I'm guessing nobody else makes their own client because it would take a long time, it might not be as good, Priit might start updating faster and of course it would be very hard to pry the thousands of players from a client that is tried and true (ish).

Finally, .39 is not out yet, it's .39 prerelease 1 - and it is basically just a fix for the bugs Priit accidentally added when he changed things with .38 - and it doesn't fix all the bugs

The SSC is still influential, but they basically allowed themselves to become mostly powerless.

A lot of people seem to make bot cores because they are learning to program or want it done THEIR way or just want all the features to be exclusively for THEIR zone.

I don't see a problem.
