okay.. I put this as my .ini file and built the lvz.. placed that into my server folder, and put it as Ships.lvz in the levelfile under misc.. did I do something wrong? (it was only 1.71MB total)

you have "levelfiles=Ships.lvz" in the [misc] section of your .cfg file?
not sure what it could be, try using lowercase only

actually that wasn't the real name of it.. but I did shorten it down to fewer letters, and it worked! what is the limit in the size of the name?

Probably the old DOS limit of 8 characters, not including the .lvz part.

Ships = 5 letters.
I think Akai was right, it was a problem with the capital S.

if you have a lot of .lvz's listed and that was the last on the list it might have been too long of a line, too
Erf - Wed Sep 03, 2003 8:50 pm Post subject:
the capital S had nothing to do with it (and all the files inside the lvz /where/ ship1 etc...), it was just the length of the lvz's name, which was 13 letters long...

omfg no wonder why none of my lvz's ever worked (the 2 that i actualy tried)...so the length of a name messes it up...ain't that sometin
P.S. this is hell with my new labtop and my damn mouse decided to stop working 5 mins ago...lol
