Post subject: ZoneAlarm Firewall Settings
The server is working fine when i run the firewall with the "medium" settings, but when i switch it to "high" it wont let people in. When i click "custom" what should i permit so that it will have highest security with still letting in people?

Open your server.ini, and look for the [Misc] Port= section. In zone alarm, let UDP packets of that port, also that port + 1, allowed to go in/out.

IE:

Code: Show/Hide
[Misc]
Port=1000

Let UDP in and out packets with port 1000 and 1001 go unblocked.

This didn't work when I tried it. My original port was 21000, so I changed it to 21001. I then went to my cousins house and tried to login, but to no prevail. Under the security tabs in ZA, Local is set at medium and Internet is set at High. What should these be, or should I change them at all? After reading the topic's author's post, I think maybe internet should be set to medium or low. Any ideas?

TIA

Are you behind a router (ie: cable modem/dsl, and it isn't directly connected to your computer)? If so, you'll have to let the router forward those packets to you. If not, i suggest a better firewall, Tiny Personal Firewall 2.0
