On top of that... where can I get the Image kit... you know... the one with all the official SS pics... I use to have it and I think it was on ss.net but that's gone now...
I kinda wanted it so I can photoshop a few images for a tutorial I'm doing ;)

PS... not everything on your DL section, MGB. I have really been wondering if you are ever going to fix that thing up... you got space problems?

the only one i miss is ssdl....
well, that and the #(@*#@* dirservers.....
reel bad
p.s. - shanky.com could be as good as ssdl ever was if there was a d/l section that was up-to-date.... i bet the users of this forum have all the ssdl files between them.... does shanky.com have the bandwidth/hd space to take up a collection?
Mine GO BOOM - Wed Dec 11, 2002 1:51 am Post subject:
At the current price we are paying for the bandwidth and server ($25 a month), not really. We've been looking around for some nicer hosts, like our own box and such, but havn't had the need. We use about 50% of our current bandwidth for the price, and around 30% of that is server.zip itself. :)
Since shanky.com and minegoboom.com will never had ads or any other money-making gimmicks (lol, "donations"), we probably won't be getting a super-elite bandwidth and box anytime soon, but maybe in the future. Just hope SS still around by then.
Of course, i could always rape PSU's bandwidth.. only 120meg (hehe, had it 100% filled earlier this year), but so far, they havn't had any bandwidth limiting, and i know i had to have sucked around a couple of gigs a day with some of the files i shared on it. Got to love video-posts on huge forum bases.

does anyone else think it's funny that the only things going on with ss websites are skin changes and server crashes? no offense mgb, the new board is great, but every ss site i know of goes through the skins like a knife through butter. it'd be nice to have some real events instead of just formatting changes (again, no offense; server help is the one place that needed it). it's like a big competition. skinfest, if you will. what's the point?

I like to think that my server help design is still pretty good after being its original shape for 6 straight years, with the only changes being a few extra blocks added in randomly on the left. The new design i was working on was well over-do, since only those at school or bad with computers use anything less than 800x600 now-a-days.
Still will be the basic design though. I believe the point in my case is to suggest the major change in servers. Old design will last as long as the old server is in. New design for a new server. I like to think of it as Server Help: The second generation, but that sounds too tacky like a crappy starteck thing.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. It's late here. <-- eyes glued open
I actually meant to refer to other sites, like TW, which just got a facelift, among others. And ss.net and many others seem to have a new skin every week (not technically true but man, if it works, why change it???)
Sorry for the confusion, I love server help and always will.

I agree with you about them changing things when they don't need to. Server Help designed worked, so it didn't need fixed (though my motto in life is "If it isn't broken, fix it till it is"), so i tried not to change it, no matter how ugly it was, or how much black space was still on my screen looking at it with 2048x res.
But i have done one major change to the design so far, and your looking at it. The reason(s) i did this was a) needed to get people used to this forums, since it owns so much more, b) the old script doesn't handle around 20,000 archived messages very well, which is why the old script was disabled, and c) the old script was using WAYYYY too much hd space per message, which means it uses way too much harddrive accessing everytime someone looked at it.
