General Questions - Moveable Tiles

Post subject: Moveable Tiles
Wondering if theres a way to make movable blocks/tiles in subspace. Like a row of tiles, your ship would "crash" through them and they would move. Also wondering about a way to make a destructable map. If you shoot a wall, it would crumble, second shot it would dissappear. Not sure if these things are capable so I thought I'd ask. Thank You

Yeah, it sure would.. If you have ever played Chase Ace 2 you really get an idea of what it would be like..lol its pretty cool

Its possible with ASSS and bricks, but it's not an easy thing to do by any means.

mmm, you can do it with a module or a bot and door manipulation, but it's not something you can just slap down

I mastered it in ASSS by accident. According to catid, I got the map on the server out of sync with the client maps. This would cause destructable tiles with flags and bricks, however, newly entering players dont see the holes. This way you can fly through a wall, and the follower will hit the path behind you. But, apparently thats "patched".

It's actually pretty easy to destroy tiles... Just healing them is impossible.

Use a psuedo form of *go, causeing the client to re-load the map.

I have a solution! Make a bot that will use the "show image to all" command thing-a-ma-jig and put it in using X, Y coords and will erase other graphics by X, Y coords.

If you make all the walls you want doors, and you place graphics over them from a bot, it can be faked. It wouldnt be easy, but I think it would be possible.

The way MERC samurai does it is easy. But, there's a limit. They can only have 6 differently-controlled doors. Ever wondered why there's not a fourth castle? icon_razz.gif
