General Questions - Mine Transparency Fluffy White Bunny - Fri Jul 25, 2003 12:56 am Post subject: Mine Transparency
As you can see in the screenshot, I made a rather large graphic for mines. The red bar going from the center to the edge of the mine swings around, sort of like a radar. But as you can tell, the mine graphic is completely covering a lot of tiles, and you cant see them. I know that black is the color the game uses for transparency, but is there anyway to make the dark red color that covers a wide area of the graphic transparent? Or is there anything I can do that would let the tiles that are being covered be seen? Any suggestions?

So you want a red shade around the mine? Just make a grid with red and black pixels as you can see in attachment.
(Download it and view it in zoom with Paint)

Ok, I'll try that.
And why does the General Qeustions index page say there are 0 replies to this?
Edit: Now after I posted my message it says 1. It didn't count yours?

It seems like this error is happening a bit more often now, though only for certain people. I'll look into it when i have time (2 weeks from now).
Oh, and to keep this message on the same theme as the question, i forwarded the png alpha transparency suggestion over to continuum's BugTraq.

Using a sugestion from fresca, I applied a "weave" effect to the dark red part wich made it semi-transparent. It turned out just how I wanted it to. Take a look:

that's exactly what Doggeti suggested...but I'm glad it worked anyways
